Dude beats Love Today at Telugu Box Office in just 7 days

Pradeep Ranganathan seems to have struck gold once again. After the phenomenal success of Love Today and Dragon, the filmmaker-actor has repeated the magic with his latest outing Dude. What’s remarkable this time is that Dude, which is originally a Tamil film, has managed to surpass the entire Telugu collection of Love Today in just its first week, reaffirming Pradeep’s growing connection with youth audiences across languages.

Love Today, which was released in Telugu in 2022 had collected Rs 11.81 crore in its full theatrical run in Telugu. The film opened with Rs 1.88 crore on Day 1 and held well through strong word of mouth, ending as a sleeper hit, the overall collection of the film stood at Rs 66.57 crore ( Tamil- Rs 54.76 crore) .

Now, with Dude, Pradeep has taken that momentum several notches higher,it’s Tamil collection at the end of Week 1 stands at Rs 43.7 crore but it is the Telugu version which has thrown in a surprise by minting Rs 12.85 crore. And with that Dude has gone past Love Today’s entire Telugu collection in just 7 days. The film opened strong at Rs 3.25 crore on Day 1 and maintained its momentum through the week with Rs 2.9 crore on Day 2, Rs 2.6 crore on Day 3, and a healthy hold till Day 7. It would be interesting to see if Dude can go past Dragon’s Telugu collection which stands at Rs 18.79 crore which is earned over 5 weeks at the ticket window.
