Bobby Deol on ignoring him after his films stopped performing

'I don't hold grudges': Bobby Deol recalls industry ignoring him after his films stopped performing at the box office

Bobby Deol candidly shared his experience of being sidelined in Bollywood when his films failed to perform. He described a gradual shift where industry acquaintances became distant, receiving fewer invitations and experiencing a noticeable decrease in warmth. Despite this, Deol expressed no resentment, acknowledging that such dynamics are common and that the same people now approach him with offers.

Bobby Deol recently recalled his struggling days in Bollywood when people started ignoring him after his films stopped performing at the box office. In conversation with Shubhankar Mishra on his podcast, Bobby said, “This was a slow process. For instance, people would meet me nicely, but they would soon go away and form their own groups, and I would be left alone.”

Fewer invitations and fading warmth

Elaborating further, he added, “The number of invitations I got for parties started to decrease. It’s not like I would go to a lot of parties anyway. We Deols don’t go to a lot of parties. The same people who would be so warm with me (when I was at the top) started ignoring me. But that’s what they say; people are with you as long as you have something to offer.”

No grudges held

“It happened, and it happens in every industry, not just mine. But I don’t hold grudges. The same people come to me now with offers, but I don’t hold anything against them,” he concluded. In the same interview, he also shared, “I had given up in life once. I went through a phase. But when nothing is in your hands, then something makes you realise that you had something which is why you had such a great start. A voice tells you that you still have it and if you don’t get that again, you won’t move forward.”Meanwhile on the work front, Bobby has been garnering immense appreciation for his last project, Ba***ds of Bollywood. Aryan Khan’s debut directorial also starred Lakshya, Mona Singh, Sahher Bambba, Anya Singh, Raghav Juyal, Manoj Pahwa and others.
