NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi Wednesday greeted home minister Amit Shah on his 61st birthday and praised his dedication to public service and his work ethic.In a post on X, Modi said, “He has made commendable efforts to strengthen India’s internal security apparatus and ensure every Indian leads a life of safety and dignity. Praying for his long and healthy life.”Thanking Modi, Shah said, “Your words of inspiration have always encouraged us to serve the nation better and fulfil your vision for India. Gratitude to you for your continuous support in our journey to build a developed nation.”A host of BJP leaders and functionaries of other parties also extended their greetings to Shah, India’s longest-serving home minister, and lauded his contribution to national life.Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and Union ministers Chirag Paswan and Jitan Ram Manjhi, all BJP allies, were among those who greeted Shah.Paswan said Shah’s commitment to building a secure, prosperous and strong India is exemplary, while Manjhi hailed his determination to eradicate Naxalism. Defence minister Rajnath Singh described him as an extremely hardworking minister.
