Taapsee reveals she and Mathias live with his parents

'It’s the most Indian thing...': Taapsee Pannu reveals she and Mathias Boe live with his parents in Denmark

Taapsee Pannu, who divides her time between Mumbai and Denmark after marrying Danish badminton player Mathias Boe, has opened up about her life abroad — revealing that she and Mathias live with his parents in their century-old Danish home.

In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Taapsee shared, “Mathias’s parents live with us on the ground floor. It’s the most Indian thing I brought into the house,” adding that living together has brought a comforting sense of family and rootedness in a foreign land. She added that Mathias’s parents have their own space on the ground floor, their living room, dining, lounge area, and bedroom.

Taapsee says it took them long to understand her in laws

Taapsee later added that it took them a while to convince her in-laws to live with them as it’s not so common to live with grownup kids in Danish culture. She said, “Since we keep travelling we wanted someone to come home to, and it’s a beautiful feeling, it truly feels like home.”

Restoring history and blending cultures

Describing her Danish residence, Taapsee revealed it is a “huge house built around 1907” filled with vintage charm and history. “There’s a lot of history involved, and we wanted to restore as much as possible,” she said. The couple has preserved the original furniture and décor, including antique lamps, chandeliers, and paintings inherited from the previous owners.

Life between Mumbai and Denmark

Taapsee also spoke about embracing Denmark’s DIY lifestyle, where “you need to do everything yourself — cooking, cleaning, buying groceries, even hammering nails.” She credits Mathias’s father, a former architect, for helping design their home.On balancing life between two countries, she said, “It depends on work — most shoots happen in India’s winter, so we spend summers in Denmark.”On the work front, Taapsee’s last hit film was ‘Dunki’ alongside Shah Rukh Khan and directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
