‘Such low IQ’: Javed Akhtar SLAMS troll who asked him to dress as a woman and attend Taliban minister’s press conference

Javed Akhtar, the renowned lyricist, poet, and screenwriter, has given a befitting reply to a troll who suggested he dress up as a woman to attend a press conference. The exchange comes after Akhtar criticised the “respect and reception” given to Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi during his visit to India.

Javed Akhtar responds to online troll’s suggestion

A social media user wrote, “Sir you are an artist, why don’t you dress up like a woman and attend that press conference!”Akhtar replied sharply, saying, “Brother, honestly I am feeing sorry for you. Why you are born with such low IQ. Nature has not been fair to you. Any way atleast you can tell your name, eat food on your own, change cloths and cross a road. You have to be thankful for that.”

What did Javed Akhtar earlier write?

Taking to social media, Akhtar wrote, “I hang my head in shame when I see the kind of respect and reception has been given to the representative of the world’s worst terrorists group Taliban by those who beat the pulpit against all kind of terrorists.”Akhtar also expressed disappointment that some “sharp witted women journalists” from India were not part of the press conference, highlighting the gender imbalance during the high-profile event.

Akhtar highlighted absence of women journalists

Javed Akhtar shared a tweet saying, “How I wish that the sharp witted women journalists like Anjana Om Kashyap, Chitra, Navika and Rubika could attend the first press conference of that woman hater Talibani who was the official guest of our secular country but Alas …”This comment came after Muttaqi’s first news conference in India drew criticism because no women journalists were included. A second press conference was later organised, featuring over a dozen women journalists. Muttaqi called the absence of women at the earlier conference a “technical issue.”
