'I have never done...': R Madhavan on playing Ajay Devgn's father-in-law in De De Pyaar De 2

R Madhavan expressed nervousness about playing Ajay Devgn’s father-in-law in ‘De De Pyaar De 2’, a role he’d never undertaken before. He praised Devgn’s dedication on set and shared his positive outlook on sequels, provided the script is strong. Madhavan also addressed de-aging rumors, attributing his appearance to fitness efforts rather than technology.

R Madhavan recenlty opened up about his experience playing father-in-law to Ajay Devgn in De De Pyaar De 2. He also spoke being a part of multiple sequels.

Nervous about a father’s role

At the trailer launch, Madhavan was asked how he felt about playing the father of Devgn’s on-screen girlfriend, the actor said “I have never done a father’s role before and competing with Ajay, I was very nervous. I have seen other actors who are so busy when they come to the set but Ajay sir is always present on the set and dedicated. We have always felt connected.”When asked about his opinion on being a part of multiple sequels, Devgn said, “I don’t mind sequels as long as there is a good script. I hope the film is liked by the audiences. We all believe we have made a good film.”

On de-ageing rumours

Earlier, speaking at the trailer launch of Aap Jaisa Koi, Madhavan said, “They’ve all been accusing me of de-ageing, but I don’t think I have the budget for that. It hasn’t happened.”Reflect on his past experience while preparing for Saala Khadoos, “When I went to train for Saala Khadoos, I consulted numerous dieticians and several people who advised me on how to lose weight and get fit—what diet to follow, what time to eat, and so on… but I couldn’t find anyone I truly resonated with,” R Madhavan added.
