Kantara 2 inches towards Rs 150 crore mark in Hindi

As the Hindi version of the film is inching towards Rs 150 crore mark, it is currently the 69th biggest hit of Hindi cinema displacing Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s Bodyguard and pushing it to 70th rank. Siddiqui directed Bodyguard hails as one of Salman Khan’s biggest hits and had minted Rs 148.52 crore. Till yesterday Kantara 2 was on 79th position and within a night it has jumped 10 position leaving behind films like Aamir Khan’s Thugs of Hindostan, Prabhas’s Saaho, Salman Khan’s Dabangg 3, Ranbir Kapoor’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar , Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30, Prabhas’s Adipursh, Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan and Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale.

The Hindi journey for the film began with an opening day collection of of Rs 18.5 crore, with Day 2 coming at Rs 12.5 crore, Day 3 at Rs 19.5 crore, Day 4 at Rs 23 crore, Day 5 at Rs 8.75 crore, Day 6 at Rs 11.25 crore, Day 7 at Rs 8.25 crore and Day 8 at Rs 7 crore. With it’s extended week 1 collection coming at Rs 108.75 crore. On its second Friday ( Day 9) the film minted Rs 7.25 crore but on Day 10 and Day 11 – the collections jumped to Rs 14.25 crore for each day. But on its second Monday- the collection dropped to Rs 4.75 crore, it’s lowest every collection till now. But with that the total Hindi collection stood at Rs 139.25 crore and became the 69th biggest hit of Hindi cinema.

The journey for the film is far from over as it still has one more week of uninterrupted run with Thamma starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna releasing only on 21st October.
