As far as the overseas market is concernt, in the first six days, it has collected $7 million in international territories. This takes its worldwide collection to ₹414 crore with a couple of days still remaining in its first week at the ticket window. After overtaking the lifetime business of KGF: Chapter 1 on Sunday, the film went past the total of the first ‘Kantara’ by Tuesday. The 2022 sleeper hit had wrapped up its global run at around ₹408 crore, a figure the new instalment has now comfortably crossed. With this, ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ has emerged as the second-highest-grossing Kannada film ever, standing only behind KGF: Chapter 2, which remains the industry benchmark with a staggering ₹1250 crore worldwide haul. The film also outperformed other recent blockbusters such as Kamal Haasan’s ‘Vikram’ (₹413 crore) and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ (₹411 crore), thus, it’s got the position of one of the biggest money-spinners, not just this year, but the last few years. Meanwhile, according to Sacnilk, at the Indian box office, the film has made Rs 290.25 crore net in all languages. It has done the maximum business in Kannada, followed by Hindi and Telugu.
