Salman could have LOST his debut film because THIS reason

Salman Khan could have LOST ‘Biwi Ho Toh Aisi’ if would had revealed he is Salim Khan’s son

In a world where the debate around nepotism never seems to end, did you know Salman Khan could have lost his debut movie ‘Biwi Ho Toh Aisi’ if he had told the director that he was Salim Khan’s son? Yes, you read that right. The director of ‘Biwi Ho Toh Aisi’ revealed that when he cast Salman Khan, he wasn’t aware he was a popular writer, Salim Khan’s son. He even added that if Salman had dropped his father’s name, the director might not have given him the part. Read on to know why.

Salman Khan didn’t tell JK Bihar he was Salim Khan’s son

While speaking to Siddharth Kannan, JK Bihari talked about casting Salman Khan for the supporting role in ‘Biwi Ho Toh Aisi’. He said that while the entire cast was locked, he was still looking for a boy to play the lead hero’s brother, and that is when he spotted Salman Khan. The director was sitting in his garage, and he saw Salman walking by, and right then and there, he knew he had found his actor. However, he didn’t know he was the son of ‘Sholay’ fame writer Salim Khan, or he would not have cast him in the movie.“He came and talked to me, and I said yes. He couldn’t believe it. He didn’t take his father’s name. Had he done that, I might not have cast him,” he said. When asked why, he replied, “Salim Khan was such a big writer and the role was quite small. It wasn’t a hero’s role,” he said.

When JK Bihari thought Salman Khan would back out of ‘Biwi Ho Toh Aisi’

“I learnt later that he is Salim Khan’s son. He called me over to meet him. I thought that now that he knows the role, he might refuse it. But he didn’t do that. Salim Khan said You are a new director, he is also new,” added Bihari. The filmmaker further shared that Salman Khan was so passionate about getting a break that he signed a three-movie deal with the producers at a very minimal price. It was an air-tight contract, but Salman signed it anyway.A year later, Salman did ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ as the lead, and since then, there has been no looking back. Go to Source
