Breaking: Early Winter Hits Kashmir As Sonmarg, Anantnag And Pahalgam See First Snowfall

October has brought early signs of winter to Jammu & Kashmir, with temperatures dropping and snowfall beginning in higher altitudes. Sonmarg in Gandarbal district witnessed its first snowfall of the season, covering the mountains in a pristine white blanket. The sight of snowflakes falling from the sky has transformed the landscape, creating a picturesque winter panorama.Other regions, including Anantnag’s Sindhan Top and Pahalgam, also experienced significant snowfall. The fresh snow has highlighted the natural beauty of Kashmir, turning valleys and hills into a winter wonderland. While snowfall in these areas is a delight for tourists and nature enthusiasts, authorities have advised caution for travelers, as roads in mountainous regions can become slippery and visibility may drop. The onset of winter is expected to continue, with gradual temperature drops across plains and higher regions alike. Residents and visitors are encouraged to prepare for colder conditions and plan travel carefully. The early snowfall not only signals the start of winter but also enhances the scenic charm of Kashmir, drawing attention to its snow-covered landscapes.
