Medical Helicopter Crashes Onto Highway In California, Injuries Reported | Video

A helicopter that took off from a children’s hospital crashed onto a highway in Sacramento, California. Several injuries were reported.

A helicopter crashed on a highway in California’s Sacramento city on Tuesday. Unconfirmed reports suggested that there were multiple injuries in the incident.

The chopper had taken off from a children’s hospital, it was known.

A video of the incident showed the helicopter spinning out of control very close to the highway. Soon after, it fell onto the ground, as cars and other four-wheelers could be seen in close range.

There was no immediate information on the casualties.

Some reports claimed that the incident happened at nearly 7.10 pm (local time) in the eastbound lanes of Highway 50 near Howe Avenue.

The traffic on both sides of the highway was halted immediately after the crash.

A report quoted a spokesperson for Sacramento Fire as saying that multiple people were trapped and were injured.

In August this year, three people died after a helicopter crashed on the Isle of Wight in Britain.

Earlier, the Air Accident Investigation Branch said it had launched an investigation into the crash, Xinhua news agency reported.

Emergency services were called to the scene, and one patient was flown to the Major Trauma Centre at University Hospital Southampton.

Emergency responders from various agencies were deployed to the accident site and closed off the road.
