Shootings At Multiple Locations In Canada

The infamous Lawrence Bishnoi gang opened fire at multiple locations in Canada on Sunday. Bishnoi gang’s aide claimed responsibility for the act and said a person named Navi Tesi extorted money in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi, hence, they carried out shootings. Notably, this comes days after the Canadian government labelled the Bishnoi Gang as a terrorist entity under its Criminal Code.

Through a social media post, an associate of the Bishnoi gang, Fateh Portugal, shared videos and claimed a role in the shooting. He said Navi Tesi extorted Rs 5 million from people in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi. Therefore, they carried out shootings at his locations.

Fateh Portugal Claims Responsibility

In a post on social media, Bishnoi gang aide Fateh Portugal claimed the responsibility of the act.

“I am Fateh Portugal speaking. We are now taking responsibility for shooting at places belonging to Navi Teshi. All these places belong to Navi Tesi, and for the past three days we have been carrying out shootings at these locations. Navi Tesi forcibly collected 5 million from singers in the name of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Therefore we are after him,” the post read.

“We do not have enmity with hard-working people. Those who earn their living through honest work and respect our youth — we have no quarrel with them. If anyone spreads false news in future, then the responsibility for any harm to the lives or businesses of those traders will be yours, not ours. Our method may seem wrong, but our intention is not wrong,” it added.

The Canadian government listed Bishnoi Gang as a terrorist outfit last week. A press release issued by the Canadian government said that acts of violence and terror have no place in Canada, especially those that target specific communities to create a climate of fear and intimidation.

“That is why Gary Anandasangaree, Minister of Public Safety, announced today that the Government of Canada has listed the Bishnoi Gang as a terrorist entity under the Criminal Code,” the press release said.

As a now-listed entity, the Bishnoi Gang has met the definition of a “terrorist group under Canada’s Criminal Code,” the release said.
