Breaking: Bihar Election Dates To Be Announced Today At 4 PM; Polls Likely In One Or Two Phases

The Election Commission of India is set to announce the Bihar assembly election schedule today at 4 PM after completing a detailed review of election preparedness across the state. Polling is expected to take place in one or two phases, with voting likely scheduled after the Chhath festival, allowing maximum voter participation. Once the dates are announced, the model code of conduct will come into effect, marking the official start of the election process. Political parties are actively preparing for campaigns, finalising alliances, and discussing seat-sharing arrangements. While the ruling NDA has indicated a preference for fewer phases, opposition parties have suggested staggered polling to ensure administrative efficiency and higher turnout. The Election Commission has also outlined measures for security, logistics, and voter facilitation to ensure free and fair elections. Election administrators are coordinating closely with state authorities and law enforcement to prevent disruptions and protect polling integrity. Voter groups have urged transparency and independent monitoring, emphasizing that any irregularities could be challenged. Results are expected to be declared within weeks of polling completion, and political observers are closely watching the developments as the state prepares for this significant democratic exercise.
