Internet in a frenzy over Vijay-Rashmika’s private engagement

Internet in a frenzy over Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s private engagement; fans ecstatic, skeptics call it fake

Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have long been fan favourites, with supporters often shipping them as a perfect couple. While the two have been spotted together on multiple occasions and even vacationing privately, they have yet to publicly confirm their relationship. On October 3, reports surfaced that Vijay and Rashmika have reportedly gotten engaged in a private ceremony attended only by close family members. According to M9 News, the couple, who have been dating for a long time, chose an intimate celebration and plan to wait before officially announcing their wedding, keeping the event away from public scrutiny.

Fans react with excitement

Though neither Vijay nor Rashmika have confirmed the news or shared pictures, fans are already sending out congratulatory messages online. One fan tweeted: “Once romancing another hero… now secretly engaged to #VijayDeverakonda! 😱 #RashmikaMandanna” Another wrote: “Hearty congratulations to our most beautiful #RashmikaMandanna and #VijayDeverakonda. Wishing the power couple a beautiful journey ahead and endless happiness #AA22 ✨” However, a few users called the reports fake, urging fans to focus on Rashmika’s projects instead. One wrote: “Stupid ppl don’t know anything, without knowing anything they are spreading fake news… Don’t believe these nonsense fans. Let’s focus on her movies #RashmikaMandanna ❤️🫶”

Not the first time engagement rumours have circulated

This isn’t the first time Vijay and Rashmika’s alleged engagement has made headlines. A few weeks ago, Rashmika was spotted in Dubai for the SIIMA Awards 2025 wearing a ring on her third finger, sparking speculation online. While fans went into a frenzy decoding the ring, some argued it didn’t appear to be an engagement ring.

A look back at their journey

Vijay and Rashmika first worked together in the 2018 hit Geetha Govindam, which sparked dating rumours thanks to their on-screen chemistry. They teamed up again for Dear Comrade (2019), which, despite mixed reviews, was appreciated for their pairing. Fans have often noticed that Rashmika’s Instagram posts sometimes hint at locations linked to Vijay, fueling further speculation.

What’s next for the stars

Vijay was last seen in Gowtam Tinnanuri’s Kingdom, which failed to leave a mark at the box office. He is set to appear in a period film directed by Rahul Sankrithyan. Rashmika, meanwhile, last starred in Kuberaa, which grossed Rs 135 crore worldwide. She will soon be seen in The Girlfriend and Thama. Go to Source
