The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday that it had carried out the death penalty as a discretionary punishment against two Saudi citizens, following their conviction on charges of committing terrorist crimes. According to an official statement issued by the Ministry, Abdullah bin Suleiman bin Abdullah Al-Faraj and Suleiman bin Abdulaziz bin Muhammad Al-Ruba’ were convicted of “participating in establishing a terrorist organization and manufacturing explosive devices and live ammunition with the aim of killing security personnel and disrupting the security and stability of society.” The Ministry stated: “By the grace of God, the security authorities were able to arrest the aforementioned individuals, and the investigation with them resulted in charging them with committing these crimes. Upon referring them to the competent court, a ruling was issued against them proving what was attributed to them and their execution as a discretionary punishment. The ruling became final after being upheld by the competent authority, and a royal order was issued to enforce what was decided by Sharia.” The executions were carried out on Thursday, 04/10/1447 AH, corresponding to October 2, 2025, in the Qassim region, according to the Ministry. In its statement, the Ministry of Interior emphasized the government’s commitment “to establish security, achieve justice, and implement the provisions of Islamic Sharia against anyone who attacks the innocent, sheds their blood, or violates their right to life and security. It also warns that whoever is tempted to commit such acts will face the prescribed legal punishment.”
