Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed concern over the recurring harassment of fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy.

Speaking to the media, he said, “The biggest problem facing our fishermen is that they have been attacked by the Sri Lankan Navy. We consistently condemn and protest this, but the Union BJP government have done nothing about it.”

Stalin highlighted the state’s repeated efforts to retrieve Katchatheevu, the disputed islet, through a resolution passed in the Tamil Nadu Assembly.

“Using that resolution, the Union BJP government should have requested the Sri Lankan government, but the BJP government is refusing to do so. The Prime Minister went to Sri Lanka and also refused to request it,” he added.
