‘Hope We Don’t Go Back To…’: Prince William Breaks Silence On Prince Harry Amid Royal Feud

Amid ongoing royal tensions and speculation over Prince Harry’s possible return to Buckingham Palace, Prince William has displayed a rare gesture of brotherly recognition. During an appearance on Eugene Levy’s Apple TV+ series, ‘The Reluctant Traveler’, William explicitly mentioned his younger brother while discussing his hopes for the future of his own children.

Asked about his eldest son, 12-year-old Prince George, and his eventual role as king, William acknowledged the difficulties he and Harry faced growing up as members of the royal family.

“Obviously, I want to create a world in which my son is proud of what we do, a world and a job that actually does impact people’s lives for the better,” he said. “That is caveated with, I hope we don’t go back to some of the practices in the past that Harry and I had to grow up with and I’ll do everything I can to make sure we don’t regress in that situation.”

William emphasised that he intends to “change” things for his children. “Change for good,” he stressed. “And I embrace that and I enjoy that change. I don’t fear it. That’s the bit that excites me, the idea of being able to bring some change. Not overly radical change, but changes that I think need to happen.”

Prince Harry has been estranged from the royal family since he and Meghan Markle stepped back as senior royals in 2020, relocating to the United States.

Royal rift

The comments come against the backdrop of Harry and Meghan Markle’s 2020 decision to step back as senior royals and relocate to the United States, which sparked years of public tension. Harry has openly aired grievances about his family, including in the 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview, their 2022 Netflix docuseries, and his 2023 memoir, Spare.

Despite his desire for reconciliation, as expressed in a BBC interview in May, Harry’s recent UK visit included a 53-minute meeting with his father, King Charles, but no engagement with William. Kensington Palace stated that William’s schedule was fully booked during Harry’s visit, dashing hopes of a public reconciliation.

Royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital that William’s reluctance is rooted in a “persistent lack of trust” concerning Meghan Markle. “Their concerns are well-founded,” she said. “Any private family discussions could become public or be used for commercial projects.”

While the brothers remain distant, William’s recent comments mark a subtle but notable acknowledgment of Harry.
