A few months ago, celebrity fitness trainer Yasmin Karachiwala shared a video of Helen on her social media handle, where the veteran star gave a glimpse into her Pilates journey. Showcasing her commitment to stay strong and agile, Helen introduces herself with a million-dollar smile, “Hi, I am a girl of 85, and because of pilates and thanks to Yasmin.” She then adds, “I’ll show you what I can do.”, As the video continues, Helen is seen jumping on a small gym trampoline, holding a bar. Then, when asked to do her most difficult exercise of the day, the actress with high energy replies, “Of course, let’s do it.” In this exercise, she is seen lying on her back, her legs lifted and resting on a pilates ball, and she lifts her upper body, holding a bar, coordinating her breathing with every movement. Along with the video, Yasmin in the caption mentions, “At 85, Helen Khan is doing things most wouldn’t even try! 😅 From climbing stairs without a cane, trampoline jumps and dancing on Monica Oh My Darling—she’s just unstoppable.💯 Living proof that Pilates keeps you young!💪”Watch the video here:

Helen follows intermittent fasting

Along with her workout, she ensures that she eats right and on time. She enjoys fruits, toast, eggs, and cheese in her breakfast, while her lunch generally includes a variety of vegetables and some non-veg for proteins. And when it comes to dinner, she keeps it light. “I do intermittent fasting for about 12-14 hours. On my favourite food list are all my mother’s recipes, especially Burmese Khow Suey or Shrimp Leh Toh and Paya made at Galaxy apartments,” she said in an old interview with us.

Helen believes pilates is best for everyone, irrespective of age

In the same interaction, Helen highlighted that she has exercised all her life, be it in the form of dancing, going to health clubs, or doing yoga. Thus, returning to fitness in her 80s was something she had to do. “In my 80s, without exercise, I found that my balance wasn’t always right, and started using a walking stick. Now, at 85, I’ve returned to exercise and find pilates the best. I work out at least five days a week for an hour. Initially, my trainer and her team ensured that the exercises were based on flexibility, and further progressed to add a bit of strength-building exercises,” she shared. She also explained the benefits of pilates and how it’s the best fit for everyone. “Pilates is good for people of all ages, especially senior citizens. The controlled, gentle exercises worked wonders for my muscles, balance, core, flexibility, and strength. I’m generally happy after the workout,” she said.It is needless to say that both her words and her workout routine are an inspiration to millions! Go to Source
