A 15-year-old girl, who had fled torment from her stepfather in Uttar Pradesh, delivered a stillborn child in a Jaipur hospital, police said. The minor, originally from Gorakhpur, had run away from home approximately a year ago due to escalating abuse and domestic tensions. She boarded a train to Ajmer, where, sitting alone at the railway station, she was approached by a man identified as Krishna.

“Exactly a year ago, the girl fled from her stepfather’s house. At Ajmer, she was sitting aimlessly at the railway station when one of the accused, Krishna, approached her,” a police official stated. Krishna allegedly promised her shelter and care, subsequently bringing her to Jaipur.

According to the police complaint, the girl was first raped by Krishna in December 2024. The accused later took her to Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh, but they returned to Jaipur in January after locals questioned their relationship due to the visible age difference between the minor and the adult man.

Upon their return, the girl alleged that a friend of Krishna, identified only as Bacchan, repeatedly raped her.

The victim eventually contacted an acquaintance in the city and found refuge with a local family. However, on September 21, she began to suffer intense abdominal pain. The family rushed her to the government-run Janana Hospital, where she tragically delivered a dead girl child.

The family who had provided shelter to the victim took her to the Karni Vihar police station on Tuesday, where she lodged an FIR against Krishna and Bacchan. Police officials inspected the alleged crime scene on Thursday.

The police told Times Of India, “Different teams are working to arrest the accused. The case has been registered under sections of POCSO and BNS and is being investigated by an ACP level officer.”

Both suspects remain on the run while police said that the investigation is ongoing.
