Sameer reveals Salman cried while singing Tere Naam for Aishwarya

'Kyu kisi ko wafa ke badle...': Lyricist Sameer Anjaan reveals Salman Khan cried while singing Tere Naam song for Aishwarya Rai

Lyricist Sameer Anjaan revealed Salman Khan’s emotional connection to the song ‘Tere Naam’. Salman related the song to his breakup with Aishwarya Rai. He often cried while singing it. Prahlad Kakkar shared Aishwarya felt betrayed by the film industry after the breakup. She was upset that the industry sided with Salman.

Lyricist Sameer Anjaan recently shared a behind-the-scenes anecdote about the title track of Tere Naam. He revealed that Salman Khan deeply related to the song, as it reminded him of his real-life breakup with Aishwarya Rai.

Salman cried while singing the song

In conversation with Shubhankar Mishra on his podcast, Sameer stated that Salman would often request Himesh Reshammiya to sing the track. Before shooting, the actor himself would sing the song and even break down in tears, particularly while stressing on the line, ‘Kyu kisi ko wafa ke badle wafa nahi milti.’ He strongly felt the song should reach Aishwarya, as he believed it expressed his pain perfectly.

Aishwarya Rai felt betrayed by the industry

In another recent interview, ad-filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar shared how Aishwarya’s breakup with Salman deeply affected her career. “I was just supportive to her. I told her, ‘Don’t worry about it.’ She said, ‘But the industry…’ What hurt her the most was being abandoned by the industry for Salman. She really felt that betrayal,” he recalled.

The industry’s biased treatment

Kakkar further revealed that Aishwarya’s real pain wasn’t from the breakup itself, but from the industry’s biased treatment toward her. “She wasn’t upset about the breakup. She was upset that everybody took Salman’s side and not hers. The truth was on her side. She didn’t trust the industry anymore because it wasn’t playing fair. I could understand if she was wrong and the other party was right, or if both sides were treated equally.
