Jolly LLB 3’ fails to beat his Jolly LLB 2’s week 1 collection

Akshay Kumar’s ‘Jolly LLB 3’ fails to beat his Jolly LLB 2’s week 1 collection

Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 3 had a decent opening weekend. The film earned Rs 73.75 crore in its first week. However, weekday collections dropped significantly. Jolly LLB 2 had better weekday performance. The earlier film collected Rs 77.71 crore in its first week. It remains to be seen how Jolly LLB 3 performs in its second weekend.

Since pandemic Akshay Kumar and ticket window haven’t had a smooth relation but things began to change with 2025 as his releases like Housefull 5, Sky Force and Kesari 2. With his latest release Jolly LLB 3 where he teamed up with Arshad Warsi, Saurabh Shukla and Subhash Kapoor, he would have expected the year to end on a high. But the things don’t look rosy for the film. JOlly LLB 3 opened to Rs 12.5 crore on Friday and then saw a spike in it’s collection where it minted Rs 20 crore on Saturday and Rs 21 crore on Sunday. But the collection dropped by nearly 74 % on Monday to earn just Rs 5.5 crore, Tuesday saw a rise in collection with Rs 6.5 crore sale. But on Wednesday the collections dropped by over 30 % to earn just Rs 4.5 crore and Thursday it dropped further by nearly 17 % to earn Rs 3.75 crore. Taking the week 1 collection to Rs 73.75 crore, with Rs 53.5 coming from the weekend. The number in itself looks good but when compared to 2017 release Jolly LLB 2- the week 1 numbers fall a bit short. Jolly LLB 2 which was headlined by Akshay Kumar, Saurabh Shukla, Kumud Mishra and Annu Kapoor had earned Rs 77.71 crore in it’s first week, where it’s weekend collection was Rs 50.46 crore and weekday collection was Rs 27.75 crore. Comparison between the two films show that while Jolly 3 earned more over the weekend, it was the weekdays where Jolly LLB 2 triumph- thereby establishing that the crowd were interested in the film even on weekdays. It was the public’s interest that led the film to cross Rs 100 crore, with the final collection of the film being Rs 117 crore. It would be interesting to see how the film performs over the 2nd weekend, as it has very little competition. Pawan Kalyan’s They Call Him OG is very much limited to South Indian states and Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor’s Homebound- India’s official entry for OScars is a very niche film with not a very wide release.
