External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on Thursday (local time) said that it is imperative for the world to display neither tolerance nor accommodation to terrorist activities. He further said that those who act against terrorism serve humanity at large.

While speaking at the G20 Foreign Ministers’ meeting in New York, Jaishankar emphasised that India’s focus is on the correlation between international peace and global development.

He said that the global peace and development have seen parallel deterioration in recent times—particularly to the detriment of the Global South.

While referring to ongoing conflicts like Russia-Ukraine, Israel-Hamas, Jaishankar said that such geopolitical tensions directly impact global energy, food, and fertilizer security, especially in the Global South.

“Apart from jeopardising supplies and logistics, access and cost themselves became pressure points on nations,” he said.
