A video showed storm surge crashing into the Pearl River Estuary in the coastal areas of Zhuhai’s Gaolan Island.Streets and low-lying zones were submerged, while water sweept through homes and waterfront infrastructure, bringing the region to a halt. Super Typhoon Ragasa has left a trail of destruction across the Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. In the Philippines, at least 10 people died, including seven fishermen whose boat capsized, and five others remain missing, with nearly 700,000 affected and 25,000 taking refuge in emergency shelters.
