Born on November 30, 1940, in Mecca, Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh was a prominent Islamic scholar and a leading figure in Saudi Arabia’s religious establishment. He was appointed Grand Mufti in 1999, succeeding Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Baz. Throughout his tenure, he played a pivotal role in shaping the Kingdom’s religious discourse and was known for his commitment to Islamic jurisprudence.Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh was a member of the Al ash-Sheikh family, a lineage with deep roots in Islamic scholarship.
