One version that’s becoming particularly popular is the Kunafa Cheese Roll — a dessert that’s creamy, crunchy, and irresistibly delicious. Best of all, you can easily make Kunafa Cheese Rolls at home using just milk, bread, and a few pantry staples. Here’s how to prepare this Dubai favourite in your own kitchen:

How To Make Kunafa Cheese Rolls At Home

Step 1: Prepare the Creamy Cheese Filling

Take half a litre of milk and bring it to a gentle boil. Add 2 teaspoons of cornflour and sugar to taste, stirring until slightly thickened. Mix in 2 cheese slices and a little butter. Add a few drops of vanilla essence, stir well, and set aside to cool.

Step 2: Make the Sugar Syrup

In a separate pan, combine 1 cup of sugar, half a cup of water, and a thin slice of lemon. Heat until the sugar fully dissolves. Add a splash of rose water for a fragrant touch.

Step 3: Assemble the Rolls

Take slices of white bread, trim the edges, and flatten gently with a rolling pin. Spread the prepared cheese mixture onto the bread using a spoon or piping cone. Add a little mozzarella cheese if desired, then roll the bread into a tight cylinder.

Step 4: Coat and Fry

Prepare a batter by mixing flour, cornflour, a pinch of cardamom powder, and water until smooth. Dip each bread roll into the batter, then roll it in finely crushed vermicelli. Deep fry in pure ghee over high heat until golden and crisp.

Step 5: Serve with Syrup

Drain the fried rolls, place them on a serving plate, and drizzle generously with the warm sugar syrup. Serve hot and enjoy the perfect balance of creamy and crunchy textures.

A New Favourite In Indian Homes

Though Kunafa is traditionally a Dubai delicacy, it’s now winning hearts across India. Many are preparing it at home, and children can’t seem to get enough. Its simplicity, combined with rich flavour and texture, makes Kunafa Cheese Roll a truly crowd-pleasing dessert.

So why not give this trending sweet a try? It’s quick to make, requires everyday ingredients, and is guaranteed to leave everyone asking for seconds.
