Raghav Juyal has worked with a wide range of filmmakers in his decade-long journey, but his latest experience has left him particularly impressed. The actor, who stars in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’, recently shared that Aryan carries the same humility and respect that his father Shah Rukh Khan is known for.“He never gave us the vibe of being a superstar’s son. Aryan always asked questions, sought our inputs, and treated everyone like collaborators,” Juyal recalled in a chat with Mid day. “He has the etiquette of respecting artistes, something I have seen in Shah Rukh sir as well.”
A patient struggle before the rise
Though today Juyal is being noticed for back-to-back projects, the road wasn’t easy. He admitted to battling frustration while waiting for his work to see the light of day. “On television, I had it all — fame, money, a house, and a car. But when I switched to films, it felt like starting over. I had already shot for Kill, Yudhra, and The Ba*ds of Bollywood, but none were releasing. There were days I questioned myself. But eventually, patience worked,” he shares. The turning point came with Kill in 2023 where played the villain role which received praises.
Rooted storytelling, beyond Bollywood’s bubble
What stood out for Juyal while working with Aryan was the director’s clarity of vision. Despite being the son of India’s biggest superstar, Aryan, he says, approached the show with a grounded mindset. “His Hindi and Urdu diction is so clear, and he speaks English only when necessary. That rootedness reflects in the show’s satire. He didn’t make it just for South Bombay or Bandra audiences, but for the whole of India. The satire is self-critical — we actors made fun of ourselves too. That honesty is beautiful,” Juyal said.Meanwhile, Aryan Khan’s debut series is getting much praise from the viewers.
