Jolly LLB 3 mints Rs 12.50 cr on day 1; fails to surpass Jolly LLB 2

Jolly LLB 3 box office collection day 1: The Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi starrer mints around Rs 12.50 crore; fails to surpass Jolly LLB 2

Arshad Warsi and Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 3 has garnered positive reviews. The film’s opening day collection was Rs 12.50 crore. Morning shows started slow, but improved later. It outperformed Sitaare Zameen Par, but fell short of Jolly LLB 2’s opening day. The movie unites both the Jollies. The courtroom exchanges are hilarious.

Arshad Warsi and Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited reunion has received praise from critics, but the film’s box office numbers are not as strong as expected. On its opening day, it started off slowly with only about 10 percent occupancy in the morning shows. However, positive word of mouth helped pick things up, and the film saw better footfalls in later shows.

Day one box office report

Jolly LLB 3 earned Rs 12.50 crore net in India on its opening day, as per trade tracker Sacnilk. The film began with just 10.28 percent occupancy in morning shows but improved to 17.46 percent in the afternoon. Steady growth through the day helped it cross the crucial double-digit mark. The courtroom drama outperformed Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par, which opened at Rs 10.20 crore earlier this year, but it fell short of Jolly LLB 2, which had collected Rs 13 crore on its first day in 2017.

Pre-sales and early buzz

Jolly LLB 3 saw decent pre-sales, earning Rs 3.23 crore gross ahead of its release day. Based on early trends, trade experts had expected it to open in the Rs 11–12 crore range. The film has received positive reviews from critics and good buzz on social media, which is helping it build strong word of mouth.Directed by Subhash Kapoor, Jolly LLB 3 is the third film in the popular legal comedy franchise. For the first time, it unites both the Jollies from parts 1 and 2. The film also features returning actors Saurabh Shukla, Amrita Rao, and Huma Qureshi, while introducing Seema Biswas and Gajraj Rao to the cast.

Jolly LLB 3 review

The Times of India gave the film 3.5 stars. The review reads, “While the film retains the franchise’s quirky tone, the rivalry between the two Jollys doesn’t peak the way it could have, and the narrative takes time to gain steam. The courtroom exchanges are hilarious, with Justice Tripathi blaming both Jollys for his stress. The second half is more engaging, especially with the entry of a high-flying, London-based lawyer Vikram (Ram Kapoor), who comes in to defend Haribhai. There are some digressions, such as Justice Tripathi wooing inspector Chanchal Chautala (Shilpa Shukla), which do not move the story forward but still add to the film’s mirth.”DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers in this article are compiled from our proprietary sources and diverse public data.
