Malavika Mohanan is currently basking in the success of her latest release, ‘Hridayapoorvam’, co-starring Mohanlal. In a candid interview recently, she opened up about navigating through different film industries. The actress, who has worked in Malayalam, Telugu, and Tamil cinema, also shared her thoughts on doing a Hindi film.

Malavika Mohan says Hindi scripts don’t excite her

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Malavika Mohanan was asked about what kind of scripts she is reading for a Hindi movie. The actress clarified that she doesn’t have any “particular genre.” The actress expressed that she has been doing great in Malayalam, Telugu, and Tamil films. And hence, according to her, “Doing Hindi films for the sake of it is something I’ve always actively avoided. I say no to a lot of films because they don’t excite me.”

In the same interview, Malavika Mohanan shared that after doing a lot of movies, one comes to a point where they think about whether to give five months of life to the film. The actress added that is the question one starts asking when a person has a steady flow of films. She said, “If I’m making an investment of five months, including prep, shoot, everything, I want it to really matter.” Malavika expressed that she doesn’t want to do any work “for the sake of it.” The actress added that since she is collaborating with the best people in South India, she wants “something really exciting even in Hindi. So that’s something I’m particular about.”
