Nissan Motor India on Tuesday reaffirmed its commitment to the government’s push for greener fuels, announcing that all variants of its compact SUV Magnite are now fully compliant with E20 petrol.
According to the official press release, both the 1-litre HR10 turbocharged petrol engine – E20 compliant since August 2024 – and the BR10 naturally aspirated petrol engine – E20 compliant since February 2025 – meet the government’s mandate for 20 per cent ethanol-blended fuel.
“We are fully supportive of the government’s initiatives on alternative fuels. Our engineering strength ensures the Magnite remains a reliable and future-ready choice as India transitions to greener fuels,” said Frank Torres, President, Nissan India Operations.
The company confirmed that all Magnite vehicles — new and existing — are capable of running on E20 without any significant issues.
Highlighting its customer assurance, Nissan said the use of E20 fuel will not void the warranty on Magnite vehicles sold after October 2024, as well as any India-manufactured Nissan vehicle with an active warranty. The company also pledged to address any issues linked to the transition to E20 fuel during routine service appointments.
The Magnite, which recently secured a 5-star rating in Global NCAP crash tests, has become Nissan’s flagship model in India. Reinforcing its long-term customer focus, the company also rolled out a segment-first 10-year warranty programme for the SUV earlier this year.
