Renault Group India on Tuesday announced two senior leadership appointments. Vikraman V has been named Chief of Renault Engineering at Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India (RNTBCI), Chennai, while Sandeep Bhambra takes charge as Head of Renault Design Centre India (RDCI) alongside his current role as Chief Designer Advanced Renault.

According to the official press release, the appointments reflect Renault’s ambition to position India as a benchmark international hub for design and R&D, closely aligned with global transformation goals and local market needs.

“The appointments of Sandeep Bhambra and Vikraman V mark a transformative moment in Renault Group’s journey in India. Sandeep’s creative leadership will elevate our design identity, while Vikraman’s engineering depth will drive cutting-edge mobility solutions. Together, they will help position India not just as a contributor, but as a creator of Renault’s future,” said Stéphane Deblaise, CEO, Renault Group India.

Vikraman, who joins from Mahindra & Mahindra where he led the Vehicle Mechanical Division, brings nearly two decades of experience across EV and ICE platforms. An IIT-Madras alumnus with a master’s and PhD in automotive engineering, he will spearhead engineering excellence and innovation at RNTBCI.

Bhambra, who has been leading Advanced Design and Concept Cars for Renault in France since 2021, has worked on global projects including the Renault 5 Turbo 3E, Scenic Vision, and Renault Emblème. With prior stints at Peugeot and Tata Motors, he has a career spanning India, the UK, and France.

To reflect its expanded role, the Renault Design Centre Chennai has now been renamed Renault Design Centre India.
