‘Demon Slayer – Infinity Castle’ crashes by over 75 % on Monday

‘Demon Slayer - Infinity Castle’ crashes by over 75 % on Monday; mints Rs 3.5 crore on Monday

Ashwin Kumar’s ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ earned ₹250 crore in India within 53 days. If on one side Ashwin Kumar’s animation film Mahavatar Narsimha has clocked in Rs 250 crore in 53 days in India, on the other side anime giant Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle had taken a confident start at the box office by clocking in Rs 41 crore at the box office. But the film crashed by over 75 % on Monday where it clocked in just Rs 3.5 crore thereby taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 44.5 crore. As per Sacnilk , the film had collected Rs 13.25 crore on Friday and Saturday and on Sunday the film saw a slight jump to Rs 14.5 crore. Take for example just the IMAX release of the film, as per statement shared by the company the film has minted USD 20 million over the weekend the globe while just in North America the film minted USD 13 million. The IMAX version has contributed up to 19 % of the total domestic collection of the film. Following its rollout in Japan and across Asian markets, “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” expanded this weekend to more than 600 IMAX screens across North America, Latin America, Europe, India, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East. Rashmika Mandanna stuns fans at ‘Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle’ screening

Helmed by Haruo Sotozaki, the film, ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle,’ is about a demon king, Muzan. He launched an attack on Tanjiro and his team in the Demon Slayer Corps to pull him into the dangerous maze of Infinity Castle. It would be interesting to see how the film fares from here on, anime has a huge fan following in the country like India but the reach of it is limited to urban centers. For the film to have long legs, it would need to penetrate the Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
