Cloudburst in Dehradun’s Sahastradhara: Hotels Damaged, Rescue Operations Ongoing | ABP NEWS

A devastating cloudburst struck the Sahastradhara region of Dehradun, Uttarakhand, late last night, triggering landslides and massive damage. Heavy debris flowed into the main market area, damaging several hotels, shops, and homes. The incident occurred around 11:30 PM, catching locals by surprise. Rescue operations by SDRF and NDRF are underway, with over 100 people already rescued by locals and officials. Multiple roads remain blocked due to debris, while continuous rain is worsening the situation. Authorities are working round-the-clock to clear paths and provide relief to those affected. In Mussoorie, continuous rainfall led to a landslide, claiming the life of a laborer and injuring another. With more rain forecast, district administrations have declared school closures in several areas as a precautionary measure. The government has promised assistance to affected families, while rescue teams continue to search for stranded individuals. As the region battles this natural disaster, officials are urging locals to stay alert and avoid vulnerable areas.
