US Vice President JD Vance will host a special edition of The Charlie Kirk Show on Monday in tribute to the conservative activist, who was assassinated last week.

In a social media post on X, Vance said it would be “an honour” to host the show and an opportunity to remember “my friend.” The episode will air at 12:00 PM ET (9:30 PM IST). Kirk was fatally shot during a speaking event at Utah Valley University on September 10.

“Tomorrow, I will have the honor of hosting the Charlie Kirk Show. Please join me as I pay tribute to my friend,” he wrote.

The US Vice President has previously called Kirk a key figure in the MAGA movement and credited him with helping shape his own political journey, including his path to the vice presidency and his introduction to President Donald Trump.

Last Thursday, Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, accompanied Kirk’s casket on Air Force Two from Salt Lake City to Phoenix, Arizona. The Vice President helped load the casket alongside uniformed service members. Kirk’s widow, Erika, was seen being consoled by Usha Vance at the airport.

Turning Point USA — the youth conservative group founded by Kirk — announced a public memorial service to be held on Sunday, September 21, at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, near Phoenix. Trump is also expected to attend the ceremony.

Kirk was known for his fierce support of conservative values and was both praised and criticised for his positions on gun rights, abortion, immigration, and gender issues. A father of two, he built a large online following, particularly among young voters, and played a major role in energising support for Trump’s political agenda.

The man accused of killing Kirk — 22-year-old Tyler Robinson — was arrested after a 33-hour manhunt. He is expected to face formal charges later this week.
