Finmin official killed in BMW crash in city, wife in hospital

NEW DELHI: A 52-year-old man, serving as deputy secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs under finance ministry in North Block, died, and his wife received “serious injuries” after their motorcycle was hit by a “speeding” BMW in Dhaula Kuan on Saturday. The victim has been identified as Navjot Singh, a resident of west Delhi’s Hari Nagar. Police said his wife, Sandeep, is undergoing treatment. DCP (Southwest) Amit Goel said witnesses alleged a woman was driving the BMW when it collided with the motorcycle.
