Nepal Police issued a public appeal asking citizens to submit photos, videos or social media links related to the violent Gen-Z protests of September 8 and 9, which left at least 51 people dead and caused widespread destruction across the country.

The police urged the public to provide any visual material that could assist in ongoing investigations into arson, looting and other violent acts committed during the unrest.

“If you have any photos, videos, or social media links related to these events, please send them to the police. Your cooperation will greatly assist us in our investigation,” the statement read.

Authorities stressed that the identity and confidentiality of those who come forward will be strictly protected.

Widespread Destruction In Nepal’s Gen-Z Protests

The protests, led largely by young demonstrators, spiraled into some of the worst violence Nepal has witnessed in recent years. Crowds attacked and vandalized key state institutions including Singha Durbar, the President’s Office, the Prime Minister’s Residence and the Supreme Court. Political party headquarters, government offices, as well as private homes and businesses, were also set ablaze. Police said the “unpleasant incidents” created fear and panic across several regions, particularly in the Kathmandu Valley, where the unrest was most intense.

Death Toll In Nepal Protests

Officials confirmed that 51 people have died in connection with the protests so far, though the toll could rise as investigations continue. Security forces have been deployed across major cities amid growing public unease as Nepal grapples with the aftermath of the Gen-Z demonstrations, which began as a show of frustration from young people but escalated into violent upheaval.
