Two Cities, Two Fires: Car Fire in Kolkata, Restaurant Gutted in Gorakhpur

A fire broke out in a moving car near Vikas Bhavan in Salt Lake, Kolkata, creating panic as flames and smoke engulfed the vehicle. The occupants managed to get out safely, and firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control. A short circuit is suspected to have caused the fire, and no casualties were reported. Meanwhile, Gorakhpur’s famous Chatori Gali witnessed another fire incident at around 9 PM when a restaurant on the first floor caught fire, reportedly due to a short circuit. Customers and nearby visitors rushed to safety as flames spread. Two fire engines reached the spot and controlled the blaze in around 20 minutes. Although no one was injured, the restaurant’s belongings were completely destroyed, while two neighbouring shops also suffered damage.
