Amid cyber threats, IT ministry asked to expedite hirings

NEW DELHI: The finance ministry has approved the creation of 269 additional posts for the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), but recruitment is still under way, prompting a parliamentary committee to ask the ministry of electronics and information technology (MeitY) to expedite hiring amid rising cyber security threats.The panel’s report further revealed that IndiaAI Mission’s fellowship programme has struggled to attract applicants in its initial phase, with the ministry attributing the shortfall to limited awareness. A proposal to recruit five Scientist-F officers is also awaiting approval.
