Day after PK's poll win, PM Modi talks to Nabin, meets Nitish

NEW DELHI: At an NDA parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday, govt representatives emphasised the big boost to employment generation and economic growth under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership compared to the preceding UPA era, with India’s “transformative journey” in sports also being highlighted.Modi and home minister Amit Shah were among those who attended the meeting, though the Prime Minister did not speak at the weekly gathering of governing alliance MPs.A light-hearted conversation between Modi and BJP president Nitin Nabin during the closed-door meeting sparked talk in NDA circles, as many MPs interpreted it as the PM putting the Rajya Sabha member from Bihar at ease a day after BJP suffered a shock defeat in his pocket borough of Bankipur, which he had vacated after his election to Parliament.Modi later also met former Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, who was accompanied by his JDU colleagues Lalan Singh and Sanjay Jha, in his office.
