‘Seeing my appa as Chief Minister is a historic revolution’: Jason Sanjay

'Seeing my appa as Chief Minister is a historic revolution.., My mom is like a spy' says Thalapathy Vijay's son Jason Sanjay

Jason Sanjay has largely stayed away from the spotlight despite being the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay. However, ahead of his directorial debut ‘Sigma,’ the young filmmaker has opened up about his parents and shared several personal memories that have quickly gone viral. In a recent interview, Jason Sanjay spoke about the values he learnt from his father, the important role his mother Sangeetha plays in the family, and how life changed after Vijay entered politics. His honest and emotional remarks have struck a chord with fans across social media.

When Vijay told Jason Sanjay to build his own identity

In a chat with Behindwoods, Jason Sanjay spoke proudly about his father while also explaining the responsibility that comes with being part of Vijay’s family. “Seeing my Appa become the Chief Minister is a historic revolution. It is an extra level of responsibility for me, my sister, and everyone in our family. It is the legacy that we have to carry forward and safeguard,” he said. Jason Sanjay also revealed the advice Vijay gave him before he stepped into cinema. “My Appa told me that I need to build my own identity and name. He asked me to reach out if I ever needed any help, but he wanted me to create my own path,” he shared.Speaking about his mother Sangeetha, Jason Sanjay said with a smile, “My mom is like a spy. Whenever I try to do something secretly or hang out without telling anyone, I always get caught.” Recalling a childhood incident, he added, “One night I took the car without informing anyone and came back only the next morning. My phone was switched off, and my family was about to file a missing complaint. When I returned home, I really got into trouble.”

Young filmmaker also looks back at his childhood with Vijay

Jason Sanjay also spoke about his childhood appearance alongside Vijay in the popular song “Naan Adicha Thaangamatta” from ‘Vettaikaaran.’ “I don’t even remember how I ended up in that song. I just wore the costume, and when they said action, I ran and hugged my Appa. I was only around eight or nine years old then. Whenever I direct now, those shooting memories come back to me,” he said. When asked about his dancing skills, Jason Sanjay modestly replied, “Dance comes only with practice. I am not a natural dancer. Please don’t compare me with my father.” His humble responses have earned praise from fans, who appreciated his decision to stay grounded despite coming from one of Tamil cinema’s biggest families.

‘Sigma’ marks Jason Sanjay’s directorial debut

On the work front, Jason Sanjay is all set to make his debut as a director with ‘Sigma.’ The film has already generated strong curiosity as it marks the first project from Vijay’s son behind the camera. Interestingly, Jason Sanjay will also make a special appearance in one of the songs in the film. As promotional activities gather pace, his first detailed interview has offered audiences a closer look at the person behind the filmmaker. While ‘Sigma’ is expected to introduce Jason Sanjay’s creative vision, his words about Vijay and Sangeetha have already become one of the biggest highlights of the film’s promotions. Go to Source
