The political equation between the Congress and Samajwadi Party has entered a new phase of uncertainty as questions rise over their alliance prospects in Uttar Pradesh. While both parties have appeared together on several platforms in Delhi under the INDIA bloc, speculation is growing about whether their partnership will continue for the upcoming UP elections. During a press conference, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari created a buzz after questioning whether the alliance was officially confirmed. His statement, “Are you sure the alliance has happened?” triggered fresh discussions about possible differences between Congress and Samajwadi Party leadership. However, Tiwari later clarified that the parliamentary alliance between the two parties remains intact and has not broken. Tiwari said that any decision regarding the Uttar Pradesh alliance will be taken by the Congress high command, and party leaders will follow the final decision. He added that the INDIA bloc coordination in Parliament continues as before. The remarks have increased speculation about the political relationship between Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav ahead of the crucial UP electoral battle. The Samajwadi Party has maintained its independent political identity, while Congress is evaluating its strategy for expanding its presence in the state. The latest developments indicate that seat-sharing talks and alliance decisions could become a major political topic in the coming months. Both parties will have to balance national opposition unity with their individual state-level ambitions.
