Ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli is working on his next grand time travelling action drama, ‘Varanasi’ starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film remains one of the biggest releases next year and if the latest reports are to be believed, the team has completed a major section of the film as the film is set for Summer theatrical release next year.
SS Rajamouli completes major part of the shoot
According to a report by 123Telugu, the makers have already completed a large portion of the film. Careful planning and well-organised shooting schedules have helped the team stay on track. The film is expected to hit theatres in 2027.It is further reported that Rajamouli has already finished almost all the important sequences of the film. The production has been moving smoothly without major delays.The next shooting schedule is expected to begin at Ramoji Film City from next week. The team will continue filming there as they move closer to completing the project.It is also said that the entire shooting of ‘Varanasi’ is expected to be completed by October 2026.

‘Varanasi’ is set in the holy city of Varanasi. The story follows the city as it faces the arrival of a massive asteroid that threatens its future. It shows Mahesh Babu as Rudra who is a devotee of Lord Shiva. In addition to it, the Tollywood giant will play Lord Rama in a special mythological sequence within the film.
