A woman who says she attended Charlie Kirk’s event at Utah Valley University (UVU) has alleged in a social media video that some people in the crowd “were cheering” after the shooting.

Her identity and the footage have not been independently verified, and authorities have not commented on the claim. News18 has not independently verified her identity or the authenticity of the clip.

In the clip, the woman delivers an emotional account, describing a single shot and graphic scenes that followed.

She condemned those she says applauded, recounting that she “just witnessed Charlie Kirk get assassinated,” describing a neck wound and “blood everywhere”.

She added, “It was the most awful thing I’ve ever seen in my life. He shot him in the neck, and blood went everywhere, and the worst part of it all was that the liberals who were there were cheering. So I just have one thing to say.”

She then addressed those she believes celebrated the attack: “If you identify with the liberal party, that’s your choice. Believe what you want. But if you identify with the people who were cheering when someone was just killed, I hope you look at yourself and ask, ‘Is this who I want to be?’ Because that is disgusting. Disgusting.”

The woman’s account has not been corroborated by law enforcement or by on-the-record witnesses at the scene. It’s unclear when and where the video was recorded and whether the individuals she references can be identified.

Kirk, 31, a conservative activist and co-founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot during an appearance at UVU. Investigators have questioned at least one person of interest and continue to gather evidence. Utah Governor Spencer Cox has called the killing a “political assassination.” Officials have urged the public to avoid spreading unverified claims as the probe continues.
