The report also suggests that Robert Downey Jr.’s colossal payday may cover more than just the two films, potentially including a cameo in another superhero offering.

After Robert Downey Jr., the next two top earners are Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor, and Chris Evans, who plays Captain America. Both actors negotiated approximately $40 million each for the two films, according to industry reporting. Between Downey Jr., Hemsworth and Evans, that combined total reaches $180 million or roughly 30 per cent of the two films’ combined budgets.
