Historian reveals why the royal life of Harry and Meghan failed

'William was right to advise Harry': Royal Historian reveals why the royal life of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle failed

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle often become the centre of scrutiny on social media for their relationship, decisions not to be active royal members, and their public presence. However, reports suggest that Prince William cautioned the Duke of Sussex about the marriage. Not only did he shrug off the warning bells, but he also leapt into the societal institution. The royal historian agrees with the decision, suggesting the couple should have thoroughly known each other before walking down the aisle.

Prince William warned Prince Harry about marriage

Prince Harry made rumours about his relationship with the former actress in 2016, and a year later, they announced their engagement. In 2018, they tied the knot in a royal wedding ceremony. However, the Prince of Wales had asked his younger brother not to hurry the marriage, as joining the royal family comes with a lot of responsibility. As for William, he and Kate Middleton were classmates for almost a decade before proceeding with the nuptials, according to Express.

Royal historian agrees with Prince William’s warnings

A royal historian marks the spot where the castle of being active members crumbled. Talking to The Mirror, Marlene Koenig agreed with Prince William’s wise advice on exchanging vows of forever. “William was right to advise Harry to take his time and not rush into marriage. The family learned valuable lessons from the marital failures (Charles & Diana and Andrew & Sarah). Neither couple got to know each other well before the marriage. No real courtship,” she said. “Edward and Sophie and William and Catherine lived together before their marriages. That time allowed the women to learn what life would be like as a royal. Meghan was not afforded that time – and perhaps if they lived together for a few years, Meghan would have had more time to observe,” she interpreted. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle renounced their active member titles and their life in the United Kingdom in 2020. The couple has been living in the United States of America with their two children, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie.
