‘Ramayana’ to have ‘Baahubali’-style cliffhanger ending

'Ramayana' to have 'Baahubali'-style cliffhanger ending, director Nitesh Tiwari confirms amid trailer buzz

As fans wait for the release of the highly anticipated ‘Ramayana’ trailer, the film’s director, Nitesh Tiwari and leading men, Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, helped build excitement around the ambitious mythological epic at San Diego Comic-Con. While discussing the film, director Tiwari teased fans that the film, slated for a Diwali 2026 relase, will have them counting down the days until Diwali 2027.

‘Ramayana’ to have ‘Baahubali’-style ending

In an interview with IGN, the director revealed that ‘Ramayana Part 1’ will conclude with a ‘cliffhanger’. Speaking about the decision to split the story into two films, Tiwari said, “Where we leave in part one is something which, you can call it a cliffhanger, something which will make people want to watch the part two the moment they leave the theatre.” The filmmaker explained, “Its story deserves two parts and cannot be told in only one. We just decided this probably would be the best part where we can leave it for part one and leave the rest for part two.”

‘Ramayana’ trailer gears up for release

The announcement came during the film’s July 24 panel, where the team, including producer Namit Malhotra, shared exclusive footage from the film and interacted with fans. The project has generated significant buzz following its Comic-Con presentation, where attendees were treated to exclusive footage from the film. Leaked clips from the event, particularly featuring Yash’s portrayal of Ravana, have gone viral on social media, sparking a wave of excitement among fans. The film’s official trailer was scheduled to release on July 24, after its Comic-Con debut, however, the makers announced a delay in the trailer release after Sony Pictures came on board to handle the film’s global distribution outside India.

‘Ramayana’ cast

The film boasts of an ensemble cast including Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, while Yash essays the role of Ravana. The cast also includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, Kunal Kapoor as Indra Dev, Arun Govil as Dashrath, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi and Vivek Oberoi as Vidyutjihva.

‘Ramayana’ trailer to be attached to ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’

Meanwhile, rumours are rife that the film’s trailer will finally drop online this week, ahead of the release of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, which is also backed by Sony Pictures. As per online buzz, the trailer will be attached with the superhero film, and enjoy a global roll out on July 30. Go to Source
