Hina on the criticism around Aamir’s third marriage: ‘It isn’t considered good by society’

Hina Khan reacts to the criticism around Aamir Khan's third marriage with Gauri Spratt: 'It isn’t considered very good in our society..marriage after marriage after marriage, even divorce'

Since marrying his longtime friend Gauri Spratt earlier this month, Aamir Khan has found himself at the centre of controversy. While many criticised it, fatwa was also issued against the actor. Adding to the discussion, actor Hina Khan recently spoke about how multiple marriages are often perceived negatively by society. Speaking on the latest episode of the podcast the4POV, which she co-hosts with actor Rubina Dilaik, Hina shared her thoughts on Aamir Khan’s latest marriage and the public perception surrounding it.Joining Hina and Rubina on the podcast were their respective husbands, Rocky Jaiswal and Abhinav Shukla. Reflecting on societal attitudes, Hina said, “The average person would naturally think, ‘Seriously? Getting married again? Left this one too?’” She clarified that she was not passing judgment on the actor but was instead highlighting the way such situations are generally viewed.“It isn’t considered very good in our society, Rubina… marriage after marriage after marriage,” Hina Khan said, to which Rocky responded, “Forget about marriage; even divorce is not viewed favourably.”Following his wedding to Gauri Spratt, Aamir faced criticism from sections of Hindu right-wing groups, with some even referring to him as “the brand ambassador of love jihad.” Responding to the allegations, the actor rejected the claims, explaining that Gauri is a Christian and that none of his wives had converted to Islam for marriage. He also pointed out that interfaith marriages are common within his own family.“The truth is that ours is a very inclusive family. Both my sisters are married to Hindus; my daughter is also married to a Hindu. My cousin Mansoor is married to a Christian. Neither Gauri, Kiran nor Reena converted their religion, as we had civil marriages. Gauri is not even Hindu, she is Christian, and not even a practising Christian at that. Life is getting more comical as time passes,” he pointed out during a conversation with Rediff.Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt exchanged vows in a private ceremony at the actor’s residence in Bandra, Mumbai, on July 5. The marriage marks Aamir’s third. The actor was previously married to Reena Dutta, whom he wed in 1986. They share two children, Junaid and Ira Khan, before ending their marriage in 2002.Aamir later entered into a relationship with filmmaker Kiran Rao in 2004, and the couple married the following year. In 2011, they welcomed their son, Azad, through surrogacy. Although they announced their separation in 2021, Aamir has continued to maintain an amicable relationship with both Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao. Go to Source
