Kashi is set to host Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam for a three-day visit beginning Wednesday, with a high-level bilateral meeting scheduled between him and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.
According to a Times of India report, Ramgoolam will arrive at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, where he will be welcomed with a guard of honour by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel.
The much-anticipated talks between the two prime ministers will take place at the Hotel Taj in Varanasi, following a ceremonial welcome and series of cultural displays showcasing the heritage of Uttar Pradesh, added the report.
On Thursday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will receive PM Modi as he arrives in Varanasi for his meeting with the Mauritius leader over lunch.
After the talks, PM Modi is expected to depart the city, while PM Ramgoolam will spend the evening experiencing the historic ghats of Kashi and the Ganga Aarti, viewed from a luxury cruiseliner.
On Friday morning, Ramgoolam will offer prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath temple before departing for Ayodhya.
