The government first announced the establishment of fast-track courts for speedy trials in paper leak cases. It also made a key administrative change by removing the Higher Education Secretary and appointing Naresh Pal Gangwar to the post. Later, Prime Minister Modi announced that a stringent anti-paper leak law would be introduced during the current Parliament session, with the proposed legislation expected to be tabled and passed beginning the following week. The government says these measures reflect its commitment to ensuring accountability and protecting students’ interests.
