The teaser was revealed during the show’s Hall H panel, including Hunter Schafer, Michelle Yeoh, and the creative team. Set 50 years after the previous instalment of the franchise, ‘Blade Runner 2099’ follows a fugitive in futuristic Los Angeles – not by humanity – leaving behind her past and acquiring the new identity: Blade Runner. Cora is forced to cooperate with a Replicant, Olwen, to track down the runaway hiding the truth that would bring down the fragile city.“Replicants, they keep taking it all away,” Schafer says in the trailer, before adding, “How much longer until we have nothing? Until we are nothing?” For the unversed, Replicants are the synthetic humans who prefer destruction, while the Blade Runners are the police officers who hunt them down to kill.
