‘Jana Nayagan’ cast fees revealed: Tamil Nadu CM Vijay tops list

'Jana Nayagan' cast fees revealed: Tamil Nadu CM Vijay tops list with record payday; Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Mamitha Baiju follow

After months of anticipation, ‘Jana Nayagan’ is finally ready to release in theaters, ending one of the most talked-about release delays in Tamil cinema. Since it went on floors, the film has been in the spotlight for being Vijay’s last full-time political outing. Despite several postponements and hurdles, excitement for the movie has not diminished. With the release day approaching, theaters have been adorned, and fans are preparing for a grand celebration, making it one of the biggest Tamil releases of the year.

Vijay leads ‘Jana Nayagan’ salary chart with a record remuneration

Now that the release date draws closer, the salaries of the film’s cast have become a hot topic of discussion. According to a report by Filmibeat, Vijay has been paid anywhere between Rs 220 crore and Rs 275 crore. This is one of the biggest paychecks in the history of Indian cinema. Reportedly, the female lead Pooja Hegde has earned Rs 6 crore among the actors. It is said that Bobby Deol, who essays the main antagonist, has been paid between Rs 5 crore and Rs 10 crore, while veteran actor Prakash Raj has reportedly been paid Rs 5 crore. Actress Priyamani is said to have earned Rs 3 crore, and Mamitha Baiju has reportedly taken home between Rs 60 lakh and Rs 2 crore, according to different industry reports.

Director and key technicians also receive impressive pay cheques

Similarly, the film’s creative team, in addition to the cast, has apparently walked away with a hefty sum. Director H Vinoth’s Rs 25 crore is reportedly the highest salary of his career so far. Reports say music composer Anirudh Ravichander charged Rs 13 crore for composing the film’s soundtrack and background score. Actor Gautham Vasudev Menon, who is said to have an important role, has reportedly been paid Rs 3 crore while Narain has reportedly been paid Rs 2.5 crore. The reported fee is a testament to the scale of the project and the seasoned team put together for Vijay’s last film.

Box office expectations remain sky-high for Vijay’s farewell film

Given the huge advance ticket bookings, fanfare surrounding the movie, along with an all-star cast, ‘Jana Nayagan’ is expected to create a lot of buzz once it hits the theatres. Movie analysts feel that the movie has everything to make a great opening, especially given that Vijay is bidding adieu to movies, which is a matter of great sentimental value to his fans.
